The control panel allows you to
add all your branches.
For each branch, you can create an unlimited number of lists. Let’s assume you have
a branch in a city managing 5 stores; you could create the city branch and 5 lists for the 5 stores.
A branch could also manage a single store with multiple lists. For example, one list could be
for loyal customers, another for new customers, and so on. Lists can be created and used at your discretion. Each list has a unique PIN code, and when you install
the GenioSms app on a device, you must enter the list’s PIN code during association.
This way, that phone and its number are linked to that list, and all interactions from that phone will refer to that list.
Here’s a practical example. When creating a marketing campaign and subsequently sending it, you must decide which list to send it to. If a user replies to the sms message asking to be removed from the list, they will be automatically removed. Similarly, if they send OK to subscribe to the list, they will be added to the list linked to the PIN code. To load phone numbers into a list, as seen in the introductory guide, there are four methods.
The first method is to manually add phone numbers using copy-paste from the control panel, selecting first which list these numbers should be added to. The second method is to import contacts from the phonebook via our app. The third method is to request voluntary subscription from the user as previously explained. When a user sends the OK message to a phone number that is included in a smartphone where our app is installed and associated with a list PIN, the user is added to that list. This voluntary subscription also provides a subscription certificate. Sometimes a user may interact without being subscribed to any list, for example by participating in an sms survey. Participation does not enroll them in a list, but the number is still added to the list.
Inside the control panel, where phone numbers are listed, precisely inside the lists, each user is assigned to a group, visible in the user data column under “subscription.” The first group is called “registered,” containing all users who voluntarily subscribed by sending OK. The second group is “upload,” containing all phone numbers manually added via copy-paste. The third group, “phonebook,” contains all numbers imported from the smartphone’s phonebook via our app. The fourth group, “sms,” contains users who interacted with the list, such as through the autoresponder. From the control panel, you can create a marketing campaign and send it to a list, choosing which of these four groups to target by selecting the corresponding checkbox. It’s also possible to send the campaign only to those who have not received it yet by selecting “send to not received,” ensuring the same message is not sent twice to the same person. This is useful if you want to target only new subscribers.
Subscription and unsubscription via OK and DEL
When a phone with the GenioSms app installed and associated
receives an OK sms message, it automatically
subscribes that phone number to the list.
Conversely, when a user sends DEL, they are removed from the list.
It is recommended to encourage users to subscribe, perhaps
in exchange for a discount code.
When creating or modifying a list, you can customize the response messages for OK
and DEL subscriptions.
Privacy law requires that every message includes a clear and simple method to unsubscribe from the list. sms package vendors often don’t mention this, because including an unsubscribe message would consume 100 characters. With GenioSms, this is not an issue, as there is no character limit per sms message sent.
A valid alternative to the OK function is the sms autoresponder. Remember, the DEL function is valid in all contexts: surveys, autoresponders, campaigns, and so on. When a user replies with DEL, they are automatically removed from the system.
Video, voluntary subscription via OK and DEL sms
In the video below, we will show how a user can
subscribe to your list with their device.
Naturally, the list they subscribe to is linked to the associated list PIN.
When a user sends OK to the phone with GenioSms installed, they are
automatically added to the list linked to that PIN.
We suggest encouraging your users to subscribe, perhaps offering a
discount upon subscription.
